Surf forecast, what's on, what to skip. In your inbox before 8am every Monday.
Saturday's the standout. A building NW swell peaks at overhead to double-overhead by Friday evening and Saturday morning, with a light NE cross-shore wind keeping things manageable. The first half of the week is smaller and mostly onshore from Wednesday onwards, so the early days are the ones to pick through carefully. Wear a 4/3 all week.
Beginners – La Sud. Monday offers the best beginner window: waist-to-shoulder sets, a light cross-shore breeze, and high tide at 08:45 giving a forgiving push. Tuesday gets gusty with westerly winds up to 25 knots – sit that one out. Wednesday through Friday the swell builds and the wind turns onshore; La Sud gets messy. Wait for Sunday if you want another go.
Intermediate – La Centrale. Monday and Tuesday are workable if you're comfortable on shoulder-high waves, though Tuesday's wind is the problem. Wednesday and Thursday bring shoulder-to-head swell but onshore conditions – manageable if you don't mind the chop. Sunday looks decent: shoulder-to-head sets, light NNE cross-shore, high tide at 13:45.
Experienced – La Gravière / Les Estagnots. Saturday is the session. Overhead to double-overhead sets, 10-second period, light NE cross-shore. High tide is at 12:55; get in early, around 09:00–11:00, before the tide fills in. Friday's building swell with onshore wind is worth a look at Les Estagnots if you want a warm-up. Sunday drops back to shoulder-to-head with a clean cross-shore – a good second option if Saturday's too much.
Saturday 19 Sept · High tide 00:30 and 12:55 · Best window 09:00–11:00 · Light NE cross-shore · 4/3 recommended

Monday's the best of it: nearly 30°C and light winds, so make the most of the afternoon. Tuesday and Wednesday bring drizzle and a drop to the low 20s, then it clears again by the weekend. Bring a layer for evenings all week, and don't leave the rain jacket at home.
Nothing confirmed in VO this week. Everything showing is VF or likely dubbed, so if your French isn't up to it, this might be a week to skip Le Rex.

Nothing dated this week. First up is Dub Inc at Le Tube on Friday 2 October (€34), then Miki the week after on 9 October. Black Flag in Seignosse and L'Île du Malt in Hossegor usually have something on at weekends; check their pages before you head out.
